Recovery Manager for Oracle User’s Guide
Only the super user or the owner of the virtual copy can restore the specified virtual copy.
OPTIONS
The following options are supported:
-s <oracle_sid> - The instance SID of the primary database. For an RAC database, any
instance SID can be specified.
-p <primary_host> - The corresponding host name of the primary host where the
specified Oracle database instance is running. The value of the primary host name must
match the output of the
hostname command.
-t <timestamp> - The timestamp of a virtual copy whose backup image is used for
restoration. Use the
vcdba_display command to retrieve a list of the virtual copy names.
If a name is not specified, the most recent virtual copy’s backup (full) image is used for the
restoration.
-T <tablespaces> - The tablespace(s) that need to be restored. Use commas to separate
multiple tablespace names.
-D <datafiles> - The datafile(s) that need to be restored. Use commas to separate
multiple datafiles.
-h <hostname> - The host name to restore to. If this option is omitted, the virtual copy’s
backup image is restored to the primary host by default.
-m <mountpoint> - The mount point to restore to. If this option is omitted, the virtual
copy's backup image is restored to its original location by default.
-c - Indicates that the control files are restored. If this option is omitted, the control files
are not restored by default. Restoring controlfiles along with datafiles and/or tablespaces is
not supported.
-v - Runs the command in verbose mode to display useful messages.
