Issuing Remote-Copy Commands
Enter remote-copy commands using the HP 3PAR Command Line Interface (CLI).

If you are using HP 3PAR Remote Copy Software with the default group policy enabled (see “Setting
Volume Group Policies” (page 118)), the following configuration commands need only be issued
on the primary storage system. If remote copy is configured to mirror commands, these commands
are automatically mirrored to the backup system:
creatercopygroup
removercopygroup
admitrcopyvv
dismissrcopyvv
setrcopygroup pol/period
startrcopygroup
stoprcopygroup
When you issue commands that are mirrored from one system to the other, there is a five-minute
timeout limit. After five minutes, if the other system does not respond to a command, HP 3PAR
Remote Copy displays the following error message:
target system <target_name> could not be contacted
