4. On the primary system (System2), add the pre-existing virtual volume(s) to the newly created
volume group (Group2) by issuing either of the following commands:
# admitrcopyvv <VV_name> <group_name> <target_name:sec_VV_name>
where:
<VV_name>—Name of the virtual volume (vv2) to add to the primary volume group on
the primary system
<group_name>—Name of the primary volume group (Group2) on the primary system
<target_name>—Name of the target system (System1)
<sec_VV_name>—Name of the corresponding virtual volume on the target system
(vv2_remote)
or:
# admitrcopyvv -pat <pattern> <group_name> <target_name:sec_VV_name>
NOTE: A full synchronization is not necessary, provided that the volumes being admitted
are new on both the primary and secondary storage systems. To skip full synchronization, use
the -nosync option in the admitrcopyvv command.
where <pattern> represents the pattern of virtual volume names (for example, vv*).
The admitrcopyvv command:
Adds the specified virtual volume (vv2) to the primary volume group (Group2) on the
primary system (System2)
Adds the specified virtual volume (vv2_remote) to the corresponding secondary volume
group on the target system (System1).
Because HP 3PAR Remote Copy created this secondary volume group (Group2.r125)
when you created the primary volume group, HP 3PAR Remote Copy automatically adds
vv2_remote to Group2.r125.
SolutionProblem
To redo volume groups: 1. Use the removercopygroup command.
2. Repeat the setup from step 1.
To redo virtual volume placement: 1. Use the dismissrcopyvv command.
2. Repeat the setup from step 4.

Selecting an Initial Synchronization Method for Bidirectional Remote Copy
Select the method for replicating the data in the primary volume groups:
Direct replication
“Starting Initial Synchronization for Bidirectional Remote
Copy: Copying Data Directly from Primary Volume
Groups” (page 91)
Copy data directly from the virtual volumes in the
primary volume group to the virtual volumes in the
secondary volume group.
