10.3 USB Recovery Key Creation

If the system BIOS has been corrupted and the device will not boot, another device can be used to create an HP Firmware

Recovery USB Key that can be used to recover it. The device used to create the recovery key does not have to be compatible

with the BIOS image.

• Run the HpFirmwareUpdRec or HpBiosUpdRec application. The main options menu is shown.

• Select Create Recovery USB flash drive and then select Next.

• The application prompts the user to insert a USB flash drive if the system does not see a USB flash drive.
