3. Depress the SCAN (START SCAN) button three (3) times.
4. Release the CANCEL (X) button. The test prints.
5. NOTE: A good HP 93/95/97 color cartridge should display 600 good nozzles, while a good HP 92/94/96/98 black ink

Photosmart C4100 Printer series, C4180 (HP 92/93/95/98/99 ink cartridges)
Self Test Page:
1. Press and hold the CANCEL button.
2. Press the COLOR COPY button. Release both buttons.
3. The self test prints. The printed pattern will verify printer is generally functional. Inspect color bars to
verify proper nozzle/jetting health.
Tap 41 Cartridge Health Diagnostics (Reference video: http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=1741):
1. Press and HOLD the ‘LEFT ARROW’ button.
2. Press the ‘Setup’ button (wrench icon). Release both buttons.
a. Or alternatively, press the following five (5) buttons simultaneously: ‘Photosmart
Express’ + ‘Photo Fix’ + ‘Reprints’ + ‘Photos’ + ‘Help’
3. At “Enter Special Key Combo” menu, select ‘OK’. ‘Support’ menu should be displayed.
4. Click the Right Arrow until ‘Reports Menu’ is displayed.
5. Select Ok. Click Right Arrow until the ‘print-mech button tap’ menu is displayed.
6. Select Ok. (‘code = 0’ will be displayed); click and hold Right Arrow until ‘code = 41’ is displayed.
7. Select Ok. The test page prints. Refer to video on how to read the test print.

Printer Reset:
1. Press and HOLD the ‘LEFT ARROW’ button.
2. Press the ‘Setup’ button (wrench icon). Release both buttons.
3. At “Enter Special Key Combo” menu, select ‘OK’. ‘Support’ menu should be displayed.
4. Click the Right Arrow until ‘Resets Menu’ is displayed.
5. Select Ok. Click Right Arrow until the ‘Semi-Full Reset’ is displayed.
6. Select Ok. The printer will be restored to the factory default settings.

1. Load Letter/A4-size paper into paper feed tray.
