NOTE If you change other camera settings, icons for those
settings will also be displayed across the top and bottom
of the Live View screen. For more information, see
Advanced capture settings on page 29.
Using digital zoom
NOTE Digital zoom does not work while recording video
clips.
With digital zoom, the camera essentially crops the image,
then enlarges the image to give the appearance of the object in
the picture being closer.
NOTE The HP 433 camera has 3x digital zoom, and the
HP 435 camera has 5x digital zoom.
1 Press the Zoom in button and
hold it until you reach the desired
size on the Image Display. The
picture enlarges on the Image
Display. The amount of digital
zoom appears at the bottom of
the Image Display.
2 Press the Shutter button to take the picture.
NOTE Digital zoom reduces the resolution of an image, so
your picture will tend to be more pixilated (grainy) than
the same image taken without digital zoom. If you just
intend to e-mail an image or post it to a website, this loss
of resolution will not be noticeable, but in situations where
the highest quality counts (such as printing), skip the
digital zoom and try to get physically closer to the subject
of your picture.
