Stapling

If only stapling needs to be requested the following PJL commands need to be sent:

@PJL SET PROCESSINGACTION=APPEND

@PJL SET PROCESSINGTYPE="STAPLING"

@PJL SET PROCESSINGOPTION="<stapling_option>"

@PJL SET PROCESSINGBOUNDARY=MOPY

@PJL SET PROCESSINGTYPE="PUNCH"

@PJL SET PROCESSINGOPTION="NONE"

@PJL SET PROCESSINGBOUNDARY=MOPY

For the “stapling_option” in the first PROCESSINGOPTION command (stapling), needs to be one of the

following strings:

One Staple (always staple, preference to the top left corner, but if not

possible then staple in the top right corner)

One Staple in the Top Left corner (if not possible, no stapling is done)

Two Staples along the Right side (if not possible, no stapling is done) Two Staples along the Top side (if not possible, no stapling is done) RIGHT_2PT TOP_2PT The “NONE” option in the second PROCESSINGOPTION command (punch) is needed to make sure to override the default punch setting in the control panel. If the accessory does not have the Hole Punching option, this command do not affect the job, it is just ignored.

Offset Offset can only be controlled through the Job Offset setting on the control panel. Mailbox or Stacker Mode Mailbox mode and Stapler/Stacker mode can only be controlled by the Operation Mode setting on the control panel. The device will reboot when the mode is changed. Stapler Stacker mode should be used when printing large quantities of print jobs. Jobs will start in the bottom output bin and over flow to the top output bin.

Using the finishing configurations without using PJL All of the destinations and finishing features can be controlled by setting the desired finishing feature through the Stapler/Stacker Menu on the MFP or printer itself. To be successful using the control panel settings the application that is being printed from cannot contain any commands to request or not request any of the finishing or destination features.
