FRU Removal and Replacement 5-29
Replace the right side cover by following these steps:
1. If you are replacing the right cover on an ISA system unit, ensure that the RFI
cover is properly installed before replacing the right cover.
2. Place the right cover next to the system unit’s right side. Then align the tab on
the cover’s inside bottom edge with the notch on the system unit’s right bottom
edge.
3. Ensure that the right cover’s bottom edge curl is below the edge of the chassis
lip. Then, rotate the cover’s top toward the chassis and push it into place.
4. Check that the tab on the cover’s top, front, inside corner fits in the chassis
alignment hole and that the holes in the cover’s top, vertical edge fit over the
screws holding the card cage to the center wall. The top, back corners must fit
over the ends of the lifting handle on the back of the system unit.
5.5.5 Left Side Cover Removal and Replacement (Model 400s)
Follow these steps to remove the left side cover:
1. Remove the top cover before removing the left side cover.
NOTICE: Both the left and right side covers should be removed even
though only one is required for access. These covers are held
in place by the top cover. Without the top cover in place, the
side covers may easily come off.
2. Pull out on the cover’s top and it snaps out of the chassis.
3. Lower the cover to disengage its lower lip from the chassis at the bottom and
remove the cover.
Replace the left side cover by following these steps:
1. Place the left side cover next to the system unit’s left side. Then, align the tab
on the cover’s inside bottom edge with the notch on the system unit’s left bot
-
tom edge.
2. Ensure that the left side cover’s bottom edge curl is below the edge of the chas
-
sis lip. Then, move the cover’s top toward the chassis and push it into place.
3. Check that the two tabs on the inside of the cover’s top fit in their chassis align
-
ment holes. The top rear corners must fit over the lifting handle edge.
