5.5.27 3-Slot DIO-II Card Cage Removal and Replacement (Model 400s)
Refer to Figure 5-45 and follow these steps to remove the 3-slot DIO-II card cage:
1. Remove the top and side covers and all DIO cards in the 3-slot DIO-II card
cage.
2. Remove the screw at the rear, bottom side of the DIO-II card cage holding it to
the chassis.
3. Remove the three screws at the bottom right edge of the DIO-II card cage.
4. Remove the two screws on the front right edge of the DIO-II card cage.
5. Remove the three screws holding the DIO-II card cage to the center wall. The
DIO-II card cage is then disconnected from the center wall.
6. Remove the DIO-II card cage.
To replace the 3-slot DIO-II card cage, follow these steps:
1. Position the DIO-II card cage against the center wall. Make sure that the mother-
board tabs fit into their notches in the card cage.
2. Start one screw into the DIO-II card cage top edge to hold the card cage in place.
Do not completely tighten the screw.
3. Start a screw in the right bottom edge of the DIO-II card cage. Do not tighten the
screw.
4. Install the rest of the DIO-II card cage screws in the bottom, front, top and
back.
5. Verify that the card cage has proper fit.
6. Tighten all of the screws.
7. Replace the remaining assemblies.
