Sends or displays SNMP traps.
Synopsis snmptraps --send [-trap_name trap_name] [-ip_address ip_address]

Description Use this command to generate specific Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) traps, to
test the trap recipient, and to validate Management Information Base (MIB) objects and associated
traps that are supported in Fabric OS.
Use the --send option to send a specific SNMP trap to a recipient indicated by its IP address. Or
use the --send option without operands to send all supported traps to all configured SNMP trap
recipients. The recipients must be configured for this command to succeed.
Refer to the snmpConfig command for more information.
Use the --show option to display all MIB objects and associated traps that are supported in Fabric
OS.
Note The execution of this command is subject to Virtual Fabric or Admin Domain restrictions that may
be in place. Refer to chapter 1, "Using Fabric OS commands" and Appendix A, "Command
Availability" for details.
Sending traps to recipients configured with IPv6 addresses is currently not supported.
Operands This command has the following operands:
--send Sends one or all SNMP traps to all configured recipients or to a specified
recipient. The following operands are optional:
-trap_name trap_name
Specifies the trap by name. Use snmptraps --show for a listing of valid traps.
-ip_address ip_address
Specifies the recipient by its IP address. The IP address must be specified in
IPv4 format. IPv6 addresses are currently not supported.
--show Displays all configured SNMP traps and MIBs supported in Fabric OS.
--help Displays the command usage.
Examples To display all the traps and MIBs supported in Fabric OS:
