Fabric OS 5.0.0 command reference guide 69
Sets the diagnostics burn-in level.
Synopsis
burninlevel [ level | -show ]
Availability
admin
Description
Use this command to select or display the burn-in level. When the burn-in level is set to a value other than
0, the diagnostic daemon program performs burn-in testing in place of the power-on self-test (POST) phase
II each time a switch blade is powered on. The mode becomes active as soon as this command is
executed so that it does not require a reboot to take effect.
When a burn-in level other than 0 is selected, actual behavior is determined by the configuration of the
diagnostics daemon and the burn-in scripts run.
A useful application of this command is to store errors on the local persistent error storage on which the
error occurs. This happens when the burn-in level is other than 0. This preserves the errors prior to
returning a board for service. For multibladed products, this is the independent blade, and for
fixed-port-count products, this is the chassis-persistent storage. The error logs are viewed using the
burninErrShow command.
