5 OPOS Logical Device Name Utility
The “HP OPOS Logical Device Name Utility” can be used to obtain the logical name of the OPOS
drivers that are installed on the unit. The utility also provides the ability to change the OPOS logical
name of the device. For the HP Point of Sale (POS) peripherals the utility also provides the ability to set
the HP POS peripherals back to the factory default logical name.
Note: In order to use this utility, the utility must be run from a location that has read/write access and
one must have administrator privileges on the unit where the utility is being run on.
Please consult your point of sale application support center or your IT support department before
making any changes to the OPOS device name.
