Configuring the JetDirect Print Server Using the Printer’s Front Panel
From the printers front panel, you can:
Enable or disable network protocols (relevant to all networks). See page 10.
Configure Apple EtherTalk Phase parameters (relevant only to AppleTalk
networks using EtherTalk). See page 10.
Configure TCP/IP parameters (relevant only to TCP/IP networks). See
page 11.
Configure Novell NetWare frame types (relevant only to Novell NetWare
networks). See page 11.
All these configuration tasks are done by choosing options in the MIO SETUP
menu (see below). MIO (modular input/output) is the network interface.
The MIO SETUP Menu
To help you use the menu options referred to in the following tasks, the menu
tree accessible from MIO SETUP is shown in the table below. So, to access a
particular option, simply refer to the table. Note that the options available depend
on the MIO card used.

CFG NETWORK NO does not allow you to set following options
YES enables you to set the IPX/SPX, DLC/LLC,
TCP/IP and ETALK options
IPX/SPX ON enables you to access CFG IPX/SPX options
OFF does not allow you to configure Novell
DLC/LLC ON enables DLC/LLC
OFF disables DLC/LLC
TCP/IP ON enables you to access CFG TCP/IP options
OFF does not allow you to configure TCP/IP
ETALK ON enables you to access CFG ETALK options
OFF does not allow you to configure ETALK
CFG IPX/SPX YES enables you to access FRAME options
NO does not allow you to access FRAME options
FRAME AUTO, EN_SNAP, EN_8022, EN_11, EN_8023
CFG TCP/IP YES enables you to access BOOTP options
NO does not allow you to access BOOTP options
BOOTP NO enables you to access byte and timeout options
(see page 11)
YES does not allow you to access byte and timeout
