Chapter 2 CGESM Switch Cisco IOS Commands

boot helper

Use the boot helper global configuration command to dynamically load files during bootloader

initialization to extend or patch the functionality of the bootloader. Use the no form of this command to

return to the default.

boot helper filesystem:/file-url ...

no boot helper

Syntax Description

Defaults No helper files are loaded.

Usage Guidelines This variable is used only for internal development and testing.

Filenames and directory names are case sensitive.

This command changes the setting of the HELPER environment variable. For more information, see

Appendix A, “CGESM Switch Bootloader Commands.”

Related Commands

filesystem: Alias for a flash file system. Use flash: for the system board flash device.

/file-url The path (directory) and a list of loadable files to dynamically load during

loader initialization. Separate each image name with a semicolon.
