SERIAL PORT You must use the serial interface to configure the switch management IP address. Refer to the Cisco Nexus 5000 Series Hardware MDS 9000 Family Configuration Guide for instructions on how to connect the serial port to a host machine. INITIAL INSTALLATION RECOMMENDATIONS FOR SETTING UP FCOE The C-series Nexus 5000 Family of switches does not automatically allow FCoE connectivity for the first-time, out-of-the box power up.
