Chapter 2 Installing the Cisco MDS 9100 Series
Installing Cisco MDS 9134 48-Port and 64-Port Stackable Bundles
Step 2 Install two MDS 9134 Switches placing one on top of the other (recommended) or side-by-side. In a
stacked switch configuration, the distance between the 10-Gbps ports of the two switches can be
maximum of 1 meter. Currently, only one-meter cables are shipped with the boxes.
Step 3 Ensure that a copper X2 CX4 transceiver is plugged into the 10-Gbps port of each switch.
Step 4 Plug in one end of the copper cable to the 10-Gbps transceiver of the MDS 9134 Switch that is supplied
in the same box and the other end to the 10-Gbps transceiver of the MDS 9134 Switch of the second box
so as to connect two MDS 9134 Switches.
