Cisco MDS 9000 Family Release Notes for Cisco MDS NX-OS Release 5.2(8a)
OL-27554-05
Caveats
Condition: If the user modifies an active FCIP tunnel compression parameter from the Device
Manager, unwanted logs get redirected to the startupdebug file of the MSM-18/4 module. Because
of the high utilization of the FCIP tunnel, this operation creates a large (4 MB) file that causes
memory exhaustion.
Workaround: This issue is resolved.
CSCue92054
Symptom: The inter-VSAN routing (IVR) feature checks out the SAN_EXTN_OVER_IP_18_4
license that results in the FCIP shut down.
Condition: IVR checks out the count of the license from 18_4 and SSN_16. Fibre Channel over IP
(FCIP) fails with this error:
"No fcip license or a license failure (0x403c0033
Workaround: This issue is resolved.
CSCud49969
Symptom: The following error appears when the isapi health-check command is used after
attaching the Cisco MDS 9000 18/4-Port Multiservice Module (MSM-18/4):
Memory Status: ERROR
Condition: After attaching the MSM-18/4 module and entering the isapi health-check command.
Workaround: This issue is resolved.
CSCud72991
Symptom: A port drops all packets originating from the supervisor module although the port is up
and allotted with sufficient transmit (Tx) buffer-to-buffer credits.
Condition: The input and output rate is 0 frames per second.
Workaround: This issue is resolved.
CSCuf31077
Symptom: Ports on the 24-port, 48-port, or 4/44-port 8-Gbps Fibre Channel switching modules go
into a suspended state and packets cannot egress or ingress on the port. This issue occurs on Cisco
MDS 9500 Series Directors and Cisco MDS 92221 switches when any of the following modules are
installed:
24-port 8-Gbps Fibre Channel switching module (DS-X9224-96K9)
48-port 8-Gbps Fibre Channel switching module (DS-X9248-96K9)
4/44-port Host Optimized 8-Gbps Fibre Channel switching module (DS-X9248-48K9)
Conditions: This issue occurs after a nondisruptive upgrade to Cisco NX-OS Release 5.2(6x) or
Release 5.2(8), and a link flap occurs on the ports.
Workaround: This issue is resolved.
CSCue12091
Symptom: While using the Cisco MDS IP over Fibre Channel (IPFC) function for the I/O
Accelerator (IOA) cluster management, the FC port channels between the IOA sites fail.
Workaround: This issue is resolved.
CSCue47831
Symptom: While performing an In Service Software Upgrade (ISSU) on the Cisco MDS 9513
switch, the syslogd process crashes.
