Caveats
2013 May 9 12:29:20 sw-DC2-9509-sw8 %SYSMGR-2-SERVICE_CRASHED: Service "ivr" (PID
32689) hasn't caught signal 11 (core will be saved).
Workaround: This issue is resolved.

Symptom: The Fibre Channel Name Server (FCNS) database does not get synchronized.
Condition: When there is a large switch fabric with more than 8000 entries in the FCNS database.
Workaround: This issue is resolved.
• CSCuf93816
Symptom: Requirement for enhancement in the message and transaction service (MTS) buffer for
the zone server, Inter-VSAN Routing (IVR), Fibre Channel Name Server (FCNS) database, and
SCSI targets to avoid forwarding information base (FIB) drops, the zone merge failure, and zone
server crash.
Condition: Normal operation.
Workaround: This issue is resolved.
• CSCug14718
Symptom: On the Cisco MDS 9513 switch, the Fibre Channel Name Server (FCNS) database
crashes with the following error:
%SYSMGR-2-SERVICE_CRASHED: Service "fcns" (PID 2908) hasn't caught signal 11 (core
will be saved).
Workaround: This issue is resolved.

Symptom: The virtual LAN (VLAN) association remains non-operational, virtual Fibre Channels
(vFCs) are isolated, and the following error appears:

Condition: This situation occurs during normal operation.
Workaround: This issue is resolved.

Symptom: The upgrade of an MDS dual-supervisor switch fails with the following error:
switch# show install all status
...
Install has failed. Return code 0x4093005E (system switchover failed).
Condition: This occurs during any supervisor switchover. This is limited to the following
conditions:
–
Performed an In Service Software Upgrade (ISSU) or In Service Software Downgrade (ISSD)
to Cisco MDS Release 5.2(1) to another Cisco MDS NX-OS version.
–
A user initiates reset of the standby supervisor while running Cisco MDS NX-OS Release
5.2(1).
–
The system initiates a supervisor switchover when the active supervisor fails.
Workaround: This issue is resolved.
