Caveats
Condition: When a virtual machine (VM) moves to another partition, the VIO performs a LOGO
first and then with the same World Wide Name (WWN) from the new location does a fabric login
(FLOGI) or FDISC again. This occurs within 10 milliseconds to minimize downtime to the VM.
Workaround: None.

Symptom: After an In Service Software Upgrade (ISSU) on the Cisco MDS 9222i switch, Cisco
Fabric Services (CFS) merge is initiated.
Workaround: None.

Symptom: The Cisco MDS 9222i switch drops packets as timeouts. The timeout drop occurs
periodically every 15 minutes.
Condition: When a user upgrades to Cisco MDS NX-OS Release 5.2(8) or 5.2(6b) from a preceding
version of Cisco MDS NX-OS software.
Workaround: None.

Symptom: On a Cisco MDS 9222i, Storage Media Encryption (SME) disk discovery fails to detect
any disk on the HP BladeSystem c7000 enclosure.
Condition: This occurs when a user attempts to perform the Add Disk Group operation by using
the Cisco Data Center Network Manager (DCNM) Web Client to configure SME.
Workaround: Remove the port channel trunk from the Fibre Channel link(s).

Condition: This occurs only in the Cisco MDS DS-X9232-256K9 and DS-X9248-256K9 modules.
Workaround: To clear the source of the messages, reload the module from which the messages are
incoming or upgrade to a succeeding version of Cisco MDS NX-OS software.

Symptom: On a Cisco MDS 9148 switch and MDS 9134 switch, an attempt to overwrite the Cisco
MDS NX-OS software image version fails with the following error:

Condition: When a user login to the switch from Cisco Data Center Network Manager (DCNM) as
a non-root user.
Workaround: Login as a root user.

Symptom: Cisco MDS Generation 4 modules attempt to log several events to syslog buffer on the
supervisor.
Condition: Normal operation.
Workaround: Override the default embedded event manager (EEM) policy for the informational
level logging to syslog by using the event manager applet INFO_ERR-override override
__INFO_ERR command.
