Chapter 2 System Messages and Recovery Procedures for the Cisco MDS 9000 Family
Error Message FSPF-3-HELLO_MISMATCH: Mismatch in [chars] in the Hello packet on
interface [chars] in VSAN [dec].
Explanation There is a mismatch in the entry in the hello packet received on the interface and VSAN
shown in the error message. The packet will be dropped.
Recommended Action Check the configuration of the the hello or dead interval on the switches on
the two ends of the interface to see if there is a mismatch.

Error Message FSPF-3-INTF_TIMER_ERR: Error in processing interface timer event
[chars] for interface [chars] in VSAN [dec] , error = [chars].
Explanation Fabric Shortest Path First (FSPF) had an error processing a timer event for the named
interface. The error is shown in the error message.
Recommended Action Provide the output of the debug fspf error command to your customer service
representative.

Error Message FSPF-3-IPC_PROC_ERR: Error in processing IPC message : Opcode = [dec],
Error code = [hex].
Explanation Fabric Shortest Path First (FSPF) had an error processing a message (opcode shown in
the error message). The internal error code is shown in the error message.
Recommended Action An incorrect IPC message may have been received by FSPF. Provide the output
of the debug fspf mts pkt and debug fspf error CLI command to your customer service
representative.

Error Message FSPF-3-LOCK_FAIL: FSPF failure in gaining lock.
Explanation
There is a problem with locking a shared resource between Fabric Shortest Path First
(FSPF) threads.

Error Message FSPF-3-MTS_MSG_BEFORE_GSYNC: FSPF in standby received MTS message
opcode = [hex] before GSYNC.
Explanation
Fabric Shortest Path First (FSPF) in standby received a messaging and transaction
service (MTS) message before receiving the GSYNC message.
Recommended Action Provide the output of the debug fspf mts pkt command to your customer
service representative.
