If the TCU is new, or has been recently replaced, and the error message persists---or the message
displays again sooner than expected---use the following procedure to determine the problem.
1. Remove, and then reseat the TCU.
2. Check the TCU for damage. Replace the TCU if necessary.
3. If the outside of the TCU is dirty---as shown in the figure below---use a toner cloth to wipe it clean.
NOTE: If the inside of the TCU is dirty---as shown in the figure below---it must be replaced.
4. If the TCU continues to get dirty after being cleaned, there is another problem. Check for
damaged or leaking toner cartridges. Moving or shipping the product with the toner cartridges
installed can also cause the TCU to become contaminated.
