Configuring the HP RIP Software For 600x300 DPI Output 1
Introduction Selected models of the ColorSpan Legacy Solvent and UV printers printers have both 600x600 dpi (dots per inch) and 600x300 dpi print modes. The printer itself requires no configuration changes to print in either mode. All settings are made on the ColorSpan print server. Two specific configurations are required: 1. Image Quality for the job must be set to either “SmoothTone 600x300” or “ICC SmoothTone 600x300” prior to processing by the RIP. 2.
To Configure a Job in the Input Queue for 600x300 If a print job has already been received but is still in an Input queue, you may make the same change to the image quality setting by clicking the “i” button in the queue tool bar, shown below, to show the Document Details window, which looks very similar to the Port configuration window shown in the preceding section. Follow the same steps given above for Port configuration.
To select a 600x300 transform: 1. Left-click and hold on the desired port icon and select “Configure” from the menu that appears. OR: 1. Locate a print job in the queue (Input queue only for ICC SmoothTone 600x300 jobs). Click on the “i” in the queue tool bar to open the Document Details window. 2. In the window that opens, locate the “Select Color Profile” area in the bottom half of the window. 3. Transf orms for 600x300 output are indicated by “6x3” in the file name and by “600x300” in the comments area.
