Data Replication Manager
Refer to the Data Replication Manager HSG80 ACS operations guide for detailed
information on the Data Replication Manager (DRM) including any restrictions.
Table 2-1 outlines the restrictions that are specific to the HA/F500 Enhanced
DT cluster configuration.
Table 2-1: DRM Restrictions
Restriction Implication
There is a maximum of four clusters per set of
four Fibre Channel switches. One node must be
located at each site for each of the clusters.
The HA/F500 Enhanced DT cluster
configuration does not support configurations
that exceed these limits.
A maximum of four storage subsystems is
permitted in an HA/F500 Enhanced DT cluster
configuration.
There is a maximum of two storage subsystems
per site.
TCP/IP addresses on each cluster node
assigned to the dedicated Microsoft Cluster
Server (MSCS) heartbeat link must be on
the same IP subnet.
Any network card supported by Microsoft
operating systems may be used for the
dedicated heartbeat link. Alternate network
topologies, such as the Fibre Data Distributed
Interface (FDDI), may have to be used to keep
the two nodes on the same IP subnet because
of the long distances between the two cluster
nodes.
There is a maximum of eight remote copy sets
per cluster.
The HA/F500 Enhanced DT cluster does not
support configurations that exceed these limits.
There is a maximum of 12 remote copy sets
per storage subsystem initiator-target pair.
In a configuration with multiple clusters, each
cluster is limited to using eight remote copy
sets. For all combined clusters, there is a total
of 12 remote copy sets available for each
storage subsystem initiator-target pair. In the
maximum supported configuration of the two
storage subsystems initiator-target pairs, there
is a total of 24 available remote copy sets for all
of the clusters (for example, with four clusters,
each cluster can use six remote copy sets).
