Enabling Access to the Host at the Initiator Site
The initiator units need access to the hosts. To enable access to the hosts:
1. Shut down all nodes at the initiator site and the target site.
2. Enable access by entering the following commands:
SET UnitName
ENABLE_ACCESS_PATH=(InitiatorHostConnectionNamex,
InitiatorHostConnectionNamey)
NOTE: There must be two paths per host. Repeat this sequence of steps for each host.
3. Perform the following for your operating system:
— Windows NT
a. Bring up one node.
NOTE: Verify that the number of LUNs and the number of disks are equal.
b. Run Disk Administrator to create partitions, format, and assign drive letters
on the newly created storage.
c. After the storage is configured, open Partition and select Configuration.
d. Select Save and insert a diskette to create a saved configuration diskette.
NOTE: Create and maintain two copies of the saved configuration at both the initiator and
target sites. This data can be used to restore a known configuration in the event of a site
failover or failback.
e. Shut down the current node and repeat steps a through e for each
remaining node.
