Glossary
array controller software (ACS)
Software contained on a removable ROM program card that provides the operating system
for the array controller.
bidirectional
Pertaining to the process by which two servers mirror each other from remote locations.
CA
Continuous Access. A storage-based HP StorageWorks solution consisting of two storage
systems performing storage array to storage array replication, along with the management
user interface (Continuous Access UI) that facilitates configuring, monitoring, and
maintaining the replicating capabilities of the storage systems.
cluster
A group of systems that work collectively as a single system to provide fast, uninterrupted
computing service. Clustering is a way to increase availability, processing capacity, and
I/O bandwidth.
Command View EVA
The Command View EVA consists of:
1. The graphical user interface (GUI) that displays the usage of the storage system.
2. The software behind the GUI, which controls and monitors the functions.
The Command View software can be installed on more than one HP OpenView Storage
Management Appliance in a fabric. Each installation of the Command View software is a
management agent. The client for the agent is a standard browser.
