Cluster Setup and Installation
For detailed information about placing servers and storage systems in a rack, see the
rack, server, and storage system documentation.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury or damage to equipment:
• Use at least two people to lift the storage system or servers during
installation and removal.
• Install the storage system in the lowest available position in the rack.
1. Select an installation site that meets the requirements for:
— Space
— Grounding
— Power
— Temperature
For environment requirements, refer to the “Optimum Environment” section in
the server setup and installation guide or the storage system user guide.
2. Install the storage system in the rack, leaving enough space above it in the rack to
install the servers. Refer to the storage system rack mounting documentation for
detailed instructions.
a. Use the template that shipped with the cluster storage system to mark the
location of the attachment points for the cage nuts, mounting brackets,
adjustable-depth fixed rails, and storage system.
b. Install the cage nuts.
c. Install the mounting brackets and adjustable-depth fixed rails.
