Windows 2000
a. After the storage system drives are configured, run Disk Management for
Windows 2000 to create volumes out of the logical drives. Be sure to assign
drive letters and format the volumes for NT File System.
NOTE: Do not upgrade the logical drives from Basic to Dynamic. Cluster Service for
Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server does not support dynamic disks.
b. Close Disk management for Windows 2000 and restart Windows 2000
Advanced Server.
Completing the Cluster Configuration
Follow the procedures described in the section specific to your operating system.
Windows 2000 and Windows NT
Windows NT
1. Install Microsoft Cluster Server (MSCS) on both servers. Refer to MSCS
documentation for installation steps.
2. After installing MSCS, install Service Pack 6a.
3. Rerun Compaq Server Support Software for Windows NT 4.0 to ensure that the
latest Compaq drivers have not been overwritten by the service pack.
4. Insert the Management CD and install the management agents. Refer to the
Management CD documentation for detailed information.
Your cluster is configured. Go to the section Verifying Creation of the Cluster for
the next step.
Windows 2000 Advanced Server
1. Install and configure the Cluster Service component of Windows 2000 Advanced
Server on both servers. Refer to the Windows 2000 Advanced Server
documentation for detailed instructions.
2. Install Service Pack 2 or later on both servers and then reboot.
