Since the Ethernet PCI family of products complies with the PCI Plug and Play specification, the controller automatically configures itself when the machine is turned on.

This can make the controller inoperable. To prevent electrostatic damage, follow these precautions: n Transport and store parts in static-safe containers. n Keep electrostatic-sensitive parts in their containers.

Using the Diagnostics Utility Compaq Diagnostics will perform three tests on the controller: n Quick Check Diagnostics reports whether components on your controller are working correctly.
