Chapter 1

Introduction

The Netelligent 10 and 10/100 Ethernet PCI controllers make use of the 32-bit

local bus interface of a PCI slot to connect to 10 or 100Mb/s Ethernet networks

running over UTP or coaxial cabling. They are bus-mastering controllers that

conform to the Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) Local Bus

Specification, and they all feature auto-sensing drivers, full software

configurability, bracket-mounted LEDs for easy monitoring, and full-duplex

support. The three members of this product family are:

n Netelligent 10/100 TX PCI UTP Controller for 10Base-T and

100Base-TX networks (#169845)

n Netelligent 10 T PCI UTP Controller for 10Base-T networks (#242500)

n Netelligent 10 T/2 PCI UTP/Coax Controller for 10Base-T and

10Base-2 networks (#292856)
