Installing the Compaq Remote Insight Board
If a Compaq Remote Insight Board has been purchased and preinstalled on the
server, follow the steps to complete the installation. Do not attempt to install
the device until after the operating system installation is completed.
NOTE: The Found New Hardware Wizard detects the Compaq Remote Insight Board as
a PCI Memory Controller until the Compaq Insight Board driver installation is complete.
1. Click Next at the Found New Hardware Wizard screen.
2. Select Search for a Suitable Driver for My Device, then click Next.
3. Check the box next to Specify a Location, and uncheck the boxes next
to Floppy Drive and CD-ROM, then click Next.
4. Type the following path in the text box, then click OK:
C:\CPQDRVRS
5. Click Next on the Driver Files Search Results screen.
6. Click Finish to complete the Found New Hardware Wizard.
The Compaq Remote Insight Board driver installation is now complete.
Error Messages
After the Compaq Remote Insight Board driver is installed, the following
errors will occur:
■ In the Device Manager screen, two entries will display for the
ATI Video Controller. One of these entries will have a yellow
exclamation mark indicating that no driver is installed.
■ In the Event Viewer, the following message displays:
Unable to map address range for graphics card
These errors result from the Compaq Remote Insight Board and the computer
using the same video controller. The operation of the server is not affected by
these error messages.
