12. Accept the defaults in the Formatting section for the NTFS File
System, Allocation Unit Size, and Volume Label at the Format
Partition screen.
13. Select Perform Format or Quick Format, then click Next.
14. Click Finish at the Completing the Create Partition Wizard screen.
The partition will be formatted to the NTFS file system and will be labeled
Healthy at the completion of the format.
NOTE: After exiting disk manager, an error message referencing a memory location may
display. This error will not cause any functional problems, and should be disregarded.
Refer to the operating system documentation for more information on
configuring the new hard drives.
Installing the Array Redundancy Software
The Array Redundancy Software allows up to two controllers to be installed to
provide controller redundancy. If the primary controller fails, the secondary
controller immediately assumes command of the drive array with no
interruption of server operation or loss of data. The Array Redundancy
Software is part of the Compaq Support Paq for Microsoft Windows 2000. For
more information, refer to the Compaq Support Paq for Windows 2000 help
file (README.CHM) located on the hard drive in the C:\CSP directory. Refer
to the “Compaq Support Software” section in this guide for information on
running the Compaq Support Paq.
Installing the Network Teaming and
Configuration Utility
The Compaq Network Teaming and Configuration (CPQTEAM) Utility
allows multiple Network Interface Controllers (NICs) to be teamed together.
You must run the Compaq Support Paq before the CPQTEAM software can be
installed. Refer to the “Compaq Support Software” sectioninthisguidefor
information on running the Compaq Support Paq.
NOTE: During the CPQTEAM software installation process, a message may display that
“The file cpqteam.dll is needed.” A default path will be displayed in the message box.
Click OK to accept the path and continue with the installation.
