Using Compaq Management Agents
The Compaq Management Agents for Servers are installed during the setup
process. For more information about the Compaq Management Agents, see the
Compaq Management Agents User Guide for the operating system. This guide
is provided on the Compaq Management CD in the Compaq Server Setup and
Management pack.
Configuring the Shared Storage and
Installing Cluster Service on
Server Node 1
NOTE: Internet Information Service must be installed before Clustering Service can be
installed. Refer to the “Installing Internet Information Service” section in this guide for
information on installing IIS.
To create partitions on the Shared Storage and to install Cluster Service,
perform the following steps:
1. Start the CR3500 Array Configuration Utility found in the Compaq
System Tools folder. This utility configures the shared storage RAID
controllers and sets up the logical drives.
See the Compaq ProLiant CL380 Software User Guide for detailed
information on the Array Configuration Utility.
NOTE: Create a 100MB quorum drive to store cluster information. The quorum drive can
be a logical drive that is part of an array.
2. After the shared storage drives have been configured, run the Disk
Management for Windows 2000 to create volumes out of the logical
drives. Be sure to assign drive letters and format the volumes for NTFS.
NOTE: For complete redundancy, both nodes must have the same drive letters assigned
to the same logical drives.
Do not upgrade the logical drives from Basic to Dynamic. Cluster Service for Microsoft
Windows 2000 Advanced Server does not support dynamic disks.
3. Close Disk Management for Windows 2000.
4. If the server node will participate on the network as a domain controller,
install the Active Directory support.
