Setting Up Cluster Groups
and Cluster Resources
After the clustering hardware has been set up and configured, and Microsoft
Windows 2000 Advanced Server and Cluster Server have been installed on
both servers, the applications to use the capabilities of clustering can be set up.
Configuring the applications will be a straightforward task if clustering needs
have been defined correctly and the applications and environment have been
determined.
Although details of the setup procedures are beyond the scope of this guide,
several documents are available from Microsoft and Compaq to assist with
these final steps.
The best source of information concerning the steps to configure cluster
groups and cluster resources is Microsoft’s Cluster Server Administrator’s
Guide.
Compaq has worked directly with several application vendors throughout the
development of Compaq ProLiant Clusters. As a result of these efforts,
Compaq provides a number of Integration TechNotes to assist you with
installing these applications in a Compaq ProLiant cluster environment.
