Additional Tasks
Backing Up the Server
After you complete the Windows 2000 installation and the server is
operational, back up the server using a tape backup system in conjunction with
approved tape backup software.
Compaq Support Software
The Compaq Support Paq for Microsoft Windows 2000 is automatically
installed when the server software is installed. This software contains device
drivers and utilities that take advantage of specific capabilities offered on
Compaq products. These drivers are provided for use with Compaq hardware
only. For more information, refer to the Compaq Support Paq for
Windows 2000 help file (README.CHM) located on the hard drive in the
C:\CSP directory. To run the Compaq Support Paq for Windows 2000:
1. Click Start, then Run.
2. Type the following in the text box, then click OK:
C:\CSP\SETUP.EXE
3. Follow the on-screen instructions when the setup program launches.
Reinstalling the Software Image and
Operating System
To return the system to its original configuration, use the Compaq
ProLiant CL380 Image Restore CDs for Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced
Server. These CDs contain the software image that was installed by the factory
on the Compaq ProLiant CL380. Refer to the documentation provided with the
Image Restore CDs for information on restoring the system to its original
configuration.
If the server operating system becomes corrupted, reinstall it using the
Compaq SmartStart for Servers CD, Compaq Management CD, and the
Microsoft Windows 2000 Server CD. See the Server Setup and Management
Pack provided with the server for information on using SmartStart.
