Post-Installation Tasks
This section provides instructions for tasks required after the software
installation is complete.
Changing the Administrator Password
After completing the initial installation, the server is ready to log on. To log on
to the server:
1. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to display the logon screen. The user name should
be Administrator.
2. Leave the password field blank and click OK.
NOTE: At this point, the Internet Explorer setup is still active.
3. When prompted that the Internet Explorer setup is complete, click OK.
4. Click Exit at the Enterprise Edition Installer screen.
5. At the prompt, set your display to the desired resolution.
Change the administrator password at this time by completing the following
steps:
1. Click Start to display the Start menu.
2. Select Programs, then Administrative Tools.
3. Click User Manager for Domains.
4. Double-click Administrator Account.
5. Type the new password in the Password field, and then retype it in the
Confirm Password field.
6. Click OK to complete the process.
CAUTION: Do not lose or forget the administrator password. This password is
required to reconfigure the server.
Refer to the operating system documentation for more information on
changing the administrator password.
