To set the ring speed after the operating system installation is complete:
1. Click Start, then select Settings.
2. Select Control Panel, then Network.
3. Select the Adapters tab at the Network applet.
4. Select Compaq 4621 Token Ring NIC, then Properties.
5. Select either Force 4 MBit/s or Force 16 MBit/s.
6. Click OK, then close the Network applet.
7. Click Yes when the dialog box displays “Do you want to reboot your
computer now?”
IBM 16/4 Token Ring PCI Special with
WOL Controller
You can set the ring speed for the IBM 16/4 Token Ring PCI Special with
WOL controller after the operating system installation is complete. To set the
ring speed, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, then select Settings.
2. Select Control Panel, then Network.
3. Select the Adapters tab at the Network applet.
4. Select IBM Token-Ring PCI Family Adapter, then Properties.
5. Change the ring speed to either 16Mbps or 4Mbps.
6. Click OK, then close the Network applet.
7. Click Yes when the dialog box displays “Do you want to reboot your
computer now?”
