3. Insert the ink cartridge into its slot.
4. Push the cartridge into the slot until it snaps into position. You should hear a beep and see conrmation
that the cartridge has been inserted.
If you have diiculty, see Cannot insert an ink cartridge on page 156.
5. When all cartridges have been inserted, close the cover.
6. The front-panel display conrms that all cartridges have been correctly inserted.
About the printheads
The printheads are connected to the ink cartridges and jet ink onto the paper.
CAUTION: Observe precautions when handling printheads because they are ESD-sensitive devices (see the
Glossary on page 178). Avoid touching pins, leads and circuitry.
