Software Overview for HP 8200 Elite and 6200 Pro Desktop Models

QFE – Often referred as QFE’s, QB’s or quick fixes, Microsoft calls them Quick Fix

Engineering Software Updates. The QFE’s are important software updates provided

by Microsoft and many are included in operating system images provided by HP.

Standalone service packs – A large collection of QFE’s from Microsoft that are

grouped together to provide a significant update to an existing Microsoft operating

system, e.g. Windows 7 SP1.

Operating systems preinstalled and/or supported with the HP 8200 Elite and 6200

Pro include:

• Microsoft Windows® 7 SP1 Home Premium Edition 32-bit or 64-bit

• Microsoft Windows® 7 SP1 Professional Edition 32-bit or 64-bit

• Microsoft Windows® 7 SP1 Ultimate Edition 32-bit or 64 bit

• Microsoft Windows® 7 SP1 Home Basic Edition 32 bit

• Microsoft Windows® Vista SP2 Home Basic 32-bit

• Microsoft Windows® Vista SP2 Business 32-bit

• FreeLinux

Note:

“Pre-installed /supported” is defined as follows:

-- Operating System offered for sale pre-installed on

a delivered system

-- Drivers fully WHQL certified

-- Drivers posted to WEB (www.hp.com) at product

announcement.

The following operating systems are certified but not preinstalled on the 8200 Elite

and 6200 Pro:

• Novell SLED

• Red Hat Desktop RHEL

Note:

“Certified” is defined as follows:

-- Hardware is provided to software vendor for testing and

certification. All drivers are OS-vendor dependant and

not supported by HP.

-- Certification is posted to vendor website.
