3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see
Battery on page 34), and then remove the following components:
a. Service door (see
Service door on page 35)
b. Hard drive (see
Hard drive on page 36)
c. Optical drive (see
Optical drive on page 39)
d. Keyboard (see
Keyboard on page 46)
e. Top cover (see
Top cover on page 49)
Remove the power button board:
1. Turn the top cover upside down, with the front toward you.
2. Release the shield (1) that covers the power button board.
3. Remove the two Phillips M2.0×4.5 screws (2) that secure the power button board to
the top cover.
4. Remove the power button board (3) and cable.
Reverse this procedure to install the power button board.
