Overview
Selective archiving, also known as email mining, archives messages from Domino m ail ser vers to the
IAP. It can b e used on both mail databases and journals. The system is first queried to determine if the
email in a
mailbox or journal is alre ady archive d. If the email is not already archived, it is archived. A
tombstone, a link to the origina l email that is stored in the IAP system, can be created in the mail file.
To configure and enable selective archiving:
1. Create a mining profile, which contains the mining rules.

2. Schedule the mining job.

The maximum supported s ize for messages to be archived is 100 MB. This includes any attachments
to the message.
