Backup and Restore
107
Backup and Restore The 3Com Email Firewall can backup all data, including the database,
quarantined items, mail queues, mailboxes, uploaded user lists, SSL
certificates, reports, and system configuration data. The restore feature
can restore any of these items individually. The 3Com Email Firewall
should be backed up before performing any type of software upgrade or
update.
Starting a Backup You can perform backups on demand, or you can schedule a tape or FTP
backup once per day via the
Daily Tasks
option from the System Mgmt ->
Daily Tasks screen.
The Email Firewall supports three backup methods:
■ FTP server
■ Local Disk
■ Email to admin (Configuration only)
Select the type of backup and click the Next >> button.
Local Disk Options
When backing up to a file on a local disk, you can choose to encrypt the
file if required. Click Next >> to continue.
