HP StoreEver Command View for Tape Libraries SMI-S Provider Installation Instructions Abstract This document describes installation procedures and is intended for customers using Command View TL and the Command View TL Provider.

NOTE: Command View TL 3.7.00 upgrade is supported from versions 3.6.00 and 3.6 patch 01. If you are upgrading from a previous version of Command View TL (Command View ESL prior to 1.5), first upgrade to Command View TL version 3.6.00 and then upgrade to Command View TL 3.7.00. All previous settings (device list, support tickets, proxy settings, etc.) are migrated during the upgrade. To install the Command View TL Provider: 1.
NOTE: The order of installation is not relevant as long as both Command View EVA and Command View TL are upgraded. Starting and stopping the Command View TL Provider You can manually start and stop the Command View TL Provider by starting or stopping the cimserver service from the Services applet. However, stopping the cimserver service causes all of the Pegasus CIMOM providers that are installed to be stopped.

1. 2. Enter the path \Command View TL\op-cimom\bin in the Environment variables PATH. To create a cimUser, enter the command cimuser -a -u . The command asks for password and a confirmation. Provide the password of your choice. 3. To provide access to particular name space to a user use the command cimauth -a -u -n -R -W. The Tape Provider all classes are implemented in two names spaces (root/PG_Interop and root/hptl) .
Options wbemexec recognizes the following options: Table 4 Commands Description -h hostname Use the specified host. A CIM Server must be running on the specified host. If this option is not specified, wbemexec will connect to the local host and authenticate itself. -p portnumber Use the specified port number. The port number must be the port number on which the CIM Server is running on the specified host.

Response SSL support By default, SSL is enabled with the Command View TL Provider. The Provider uses an SSL server-side certificate to enable clients to securely communicate with the SMI-S server. A self-signed certificate (myserver.
