1. Turn the computer upside down on a flat surface.
2. Slide the battery release latch (1) to release the battery.
NOTE: The battery release latch automatically returns to its original position.
3. Remove the battery (2) from the computer.
Reverse this procedure to install the battery.

Remove the service cover to access the memory module slot, hard drive, and other components.
1. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 56).
2. With the battery bay toward you, slide the service cover release latch (1) to the left, remove the screw
(if the optional screw is being used) (2), and then slide the release latch again (3) to release the service
cover.
NOTE: If you not want to use the optional screw, you can store it inside the service cover.
