Tablet security is essential for protecting the condentiality, integrity, and availability of your information.
Setting a screen lock
Follow these steps to set a screen lock.
.1. Swipe down twice from the top edge, and then touch the Settings
icon
2. Touch Security, and then touch Screen lock.
NOTE: If you have previously set a screen lock, you must unlock the screen before changing the lock
settings.
None—No screen lock is set.
Swipe
—Unlock the screen by swiping in any direction.
Pattern—Draw a simple pattern to unlock the screen.
PIN
—Enter four or more numbers to unlock the screen.
Password—Enter four or more letters or numbers. This option provides the most protection, if you
sel
ect a strong password.

. Use Lock screen message to enter text to be displayed when the screen is locked.
Using a ingerprint logon
Use a ngerprint to unlock your tablet. The ngerprint reader is located on the power button.
1. Swipe down twice from the top edge, and then touch the
Settings icon
.

. Touch Security, and then touch Fingerprint.

. Follow the on-screen instructions to register your ngerprint.

. After you register your ngerprint, touch your nger to the power button to unlock the tablet.
Using Smart Lock
Use Smart Lock to select unlocking options such as facial, body, voice, location, or other device recognition.
NOTE: This option is only available after a screen lock has been set.

ouch Security, and then touch Smart Lock.

. Touch your selection for Smart Lock, and then follow the on-screen instructions.
After setting a Smart Lock, every time you turn on your tablet, it will search for the unlock item. You can still
unlock the tablet with your screen lock.
