Locking and unlocking the tablet
Use these procedures to lock and unlock your tablet.
Locking
Follow these steps to lock your tablet.
1. Set a screen lock (see Setting a screen lock on page 27) or Smart Lock (see Using Smart Lock
on page 27).
2. Press the power button.
Unlocking
Follow these steps to unlock your tablet.
1. Press the power button to turn on the tablet.
2. If you have your ingerprint registered to unlock your tablet, touch the appropriate inger to the
power button to unlock the tablet.

Place your nger on the Lock icon and slide the icon up to unlock.
3. Use your security unlock method, such as entering a PIN or facing the tablet for trusted face recognition,
to unlock the tablet.
TIP: To quickly access the camera from the locked screen, place your nger on the Camera icon and
slide the icon up.
To quickly access the microphone from the locked screen, place your nger on the Microphone icon and
slide the icon up.
Setting guest user mode
Guest user mode allows others access to areas of your tablet that you specify.
1.
Swipe down twice from the top edge, and then touch the Settings icon
.
2. Touch System, touch Advanced, touch Multiple Users, and then touch Guest.
After you add a guest, your tablet logs out of your account and switches automatically to the guest
account.
Setting screen pinning
If you want to provide access only to a certain app, use the screen pinning function to lock the app on the
screen. Others can use the app on your tablet, but cannot leave the app to explore the rest of your tablet.
