After power up, what’s next? Telefonica Branding Now that you have had a chance to turn on your new AirLife 100 and go through the initial Getting Started Assistant, let’s learn more about the basics and things you can do. Read through the following pages. And if you missed instant messaging or e-mail setup during initial power up, you can learn how to do it in the following pages.

The basics you need to know MENU Key Moving around in AirLife The MENU key opens up a context sensitive menu. You can press the MENU key on the Home screen or any application to view available options. Your AirLife gives you the freedom to choose how you want to navigate: Touch Home Key Using the touch screen, you can open an application on the shortcut strip with a quick touch, or you can touch and hold to drag items. Personalize your desktop Your desktop is a place that you can make your own. And you get plenty of space—flick left or right to view more of your desktop. You can change the background and add your favorite shortcuts. Also, you can add cool widgets, such as a clock or calendar. To personalize your desktop, on the Home screen, touch and hold the desktop. Add a shortcut to your desktop. Add an application such as a clock or a cool picture frame to your desktop. Add a file folder to your desktop.

The things you can do Your AirLife includes simple to use tools that help you connect with your friends. Learn how to how to access your favorite social networking sites, communicate with your friends, play your music, take and view photos, keep track of your contacts, and schedule appointments. Browsing the web Get the full web experience with the browser included with your AirLife. You can zoom in or out, or pick a section to zoom in on by using the magnifying feature. Open a web page 1.
Zoom and Magnify When you scroll on a web page, the zoom slider and magnify button are displayed. To zoom in on the web page, drag the slider. Magnify button Zoom slider To zoom in on a specific section of a web page, touch the magnify button, and then touch and drag the zoom window to your preferred location.
Instant Messaging Email Send an email 1. Open the App Drawer, and then touch E-mail. 2. Touch the email account that you prefer to use. Meebo Instant Messaging allows you to add accounts from multiple IM services. After you add your accounts, you can sign in to all accounts at the same time, and send and receive instant messages. 3. On the keyboard, press Menu, and then touch Compose. 4. In the To box, type an email address. Sign on to an IM account 5.
Set up additional instant messaging accounts Text and multimedia messaging 1. Open the AppDrawer, touch Meebo IM, and then touch Add. 2. In the network list, touch an instant messaging service. Send a text message 1. Open the App Drawer, touch Messaging, and then touch New Message. 2. In the To box, add one ore more contacts. 3. In the message body, type your message, and then touch Send. Send a multimedia message 1. Open the App Drawer, touch Messaging, and then touch New Message. 2.
Listen to music Music Import a playlist from your iTunes music library on your PC 1. On your PC, download the Sonic Playlist Importer here: http:///xxxxxx. Extract the files, and then click setup.exe, complete installation, and then restart your computer. The Music application includes a music list view and a music player view. When you initially open the Music application, you are in the music list view. The music player opens up when you play a song or multiple songs.
Create a playlist Customize music list view You can create one or more playlists from the main music view. 1. In the music list view, on the keyboard press MENU, and then touch Views. Pictures and video Share a picture or video You can take photos and videos with your AirLife and share them on the Web. You can also transfer existing pictures and videos from a digital camera or PC. Take a picture or video 1. Open the App Drawer, and then touch Photo. 2. Touch a picture or video. After the picture or image opens, touch it again. 1. Open the App Drawer, and then touch Camera. 3. On the keyboard press MENU, touch Share, and then select an option. 2.
Transfer pictures or videos You can use an SD card to transfer pictures and videos from your digital camera or PC on to you AirLife. Once you transfer the photos or videos, you can send them to friends or upload them to your favorite social networking site. 1. Insert the SD card from a digital camera or insert a SD card containing photos or videos that you have copied from your PC. 2. Open the AppDrawer, and then touch Photo. 3. On the keyboard press MENU, touch Locations, and then touch SD Card. 4.
Contacts Calendar Add a contact (Intro) Schedule an event 1. Open the AppDrawer, and then touch Contacts. Remind yourself of important upcoming events like birthdays and parties. 2. On your keyboard, press MENU, and then touch New Contact. 1. Open the AppDrawer, and then touch Calendar. 3. Touch Create contact. 2. On your keyboard press MENU, and then touch New Event. 4. Type the new contact information, and then touch Done. 3. On the Event details screen, type the event name.
View documents with Quickoffice Quickoffice allows you to open and read Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF documents. You can zoom in or out and documents are automatically resized to eliminate the need to scroll from left to right. Storage on the web If you already have an account with Google docs, box, or mobileme, you can easily connect to these services from your AirLife. Connect 1. Open the AppDrawer, and then touch Quickoffice. 2. Touch Internal Storage, SD card, or Recent Documents. 3.
Backup your AirLife You can create a single backup file that contains your AirLife settings and files. The backup file can be saved to an SD card. Using the backup file, you can restore your AirLife Backup 1. Open the AppDrawer, and then touch Backup. 2. Type a name for the backup, and then touch OK. 3. The default backup settings include documents, settings, applications, pictures, music, and videos. If you prefer not to backup your pictures, music, or videos, touch Pictures, Music, or Videos. 4.
View and organize files and folders The files stored on your AirLife can be viewed and organized using File Manager. 1. To open the File Manger, open the App Drawer, and then touch File Manager . 2. Touch Internal Storage, SD card, or a web storage service. Edit Multiple folders or files 1. To the right of the files or folders, click 2. RoadSync RoadSync allows you to sync your AirLife with your corporate email and calendar that uses Microsoft Exchange server. Contact your corporate IT administrator to find out if your e-mail account uses Exchange server. Sync email and calendar 1. Open the App Drawer, touch RoadSync Mail, and then touch Next. View your RoadSync email and calendar Email: Open the App Drawer, and then touch RoadSync Mail. Calendar: Open the App Drawer, and then touch RoadSync Calendar. 2.
Your Internet connection Your AirLife can connect to the Internet using a 3G network (cell phone network provider) or a wireless network (Wi-Fi). When you are in range of a cellular 3G network, you AirLife is automatically connected. When you want to use Wi-Fi, you turn on Wi-Fi and then select a network to connect to, such as your home Wi-Fi network. Some Wi-Fi networks may require configuration on the initial connection, and then next time you turn on Wi-Fi, you are automatically connected.
Get Applications Get Accessories You can download additional applications, such as games and other applications from Handango. To purchase compatible accessories such as cases, wired headsets, and batteries for your new AirLife, you can go to http://www.hp.com. 1. Open the AppDrawer, touch Handango. Your web browser will open up and display the Handango website. 2. Browse the available applications 3. Touch the desired Wi-Fi network name, and then touch Connect.
