Version 2.02 of HP Virtual Connect Manager checks the server ROM image version and displays an
incompatible state only for server blades that have a VC Server Profile assigned and are using
incompatible server ROM versions. No version checking of mezzanine card firmware is available, so be
sure to verify that the mezzanine card firmware is up-to-date.
Server blades and mezzanine cards that do not meet the required firmware versions do not accept Virtual
Connect-assigned parameters (MACs, WWNs, and so on) properly, and therefore maintain factory
defaults. However, these server blades do have the Ethernet network and Fibre Channel fabric
connectivity specified in their Virtual Connect server profiles. This connectivity enables the use of network-
based firmware update tools for server blade and mezzanine firmware updates.
Important notes
• VC 2.02 firmware does not support the Multi Enclosure (Beta) feature.
• Upgrading from VC firmware v1.3x with Multi Enclosure (Beta) domain to VC v2.02 is not
supported. Before upgrading to VC v2.02, delete the Multi Enclosure domain in v1.3x.
• The HP Virtual Connect Flex-10 10Gb Ethernet Module is supported by VC v2.00 and newer
versions of VC firmware only. This module is not supported by older versions (1.32) of VC firmware.
