HP Virtual Connect Version 3.01 Release Notes
Known issues 13
On some combinations of Firefox web browser, Adobe Flash Player, and Operating System, the
Adobe Flash Player will cause the Firefox web browser to crash unexpectedly - especially if there are
multiple versions of the Flash Player Plugin installed with Firefox or if there is an older/unsupported
version of the Flash Player Plugin (e.g. such as Flash v8.0) installed with Firefox, even if the
older/unsupported version of the Flash Plugin is disabled. It is recommended that Virtual Connect
3.0x users install only 1 supported version of the Adobe Flash Player Plugin with their Firefox web
browser.
Depending on the installed versions of the Firefox, Adobe Flash Player, and OS (for example:
Combination of Firefox v3.5.9, Adobe Flash v9.0/v10.0, on GNU Linux v2.6.9) certain fix patches
from Adobe for the Adobe Flash Player may be needed. For the latest information on fix patches
from Adobe for the Flash Player Plugin, see the Adobe website
(http://www.adobe.com/support/security/index.html#flashplayer
).
Also users might experience problems with the Firefox browser hanging or crashing and then
showing the "failed to create MSXML object" error. This is a known issue with XSLT transformations
the Firefox browser. See the information at the following URL's about downloading and installing a
patch for your specific version of the Firefox browser at this Mozilla website
(http://www.mozilla.org/security/announce/2009/mfsa2009-12.html
) or this Mozilla website
(http://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox30.html
).
• If the VC Domain is configured for double dense Server mode, and a profile is assigned to an empty
server bay, and then a hot plug of a single dense server into that server bay will result in the profile
not being activated. Recovery is to unassign the profile and reassign.
Firmware update
HP BladeSystem c-Class Virtual Connect Support Utility v 1.5.0 is now required to install the HP VC 3.0x
firmware package.
For more information on installing the firmware, see the HP BladeSystem c-Class Virtual Connect Support
Utility release notes on the HP website (http://www.hp.com/go/bladesystem/documentation
).
IMPORTANT: When upgrading the HP VC 4Gb FC firmware from version VC-FC 1.2x to
version VC-FC 1.40, the VC-FC module can drop connectivity temporarily during the
activation process. A redundant customer configuration experiences a failover with no loss of
application connectivity to the fabric.
