Gbps FC Blade and the HP DC SAN Director 32 Port 8 Gbps FC Blade

These blades do not support:

◦ D-port

◦ FEC on front-end ports

Fabric OS 7.0.1 and later include the following new features, support and enhancements:

• Enhanced Optical ICL topology support for the HP SN8000B SAN Directors

Support for up to nine HP SN8000B SAN Director chassis in full mesh configurations

using optical ICLs

◦ Support for ICL connectivity with up to ten HP SN8000B SAN Director chassis in a

core-edge topology

NOTE: Certain documents may state a maximum of eight SN8000B chassis for core-edge

topology. This is attributed to having finalized and published the documents prior to test

completion providing validation to support the newer ten chassis maximum.

◦ Enterprise ICL license support on the HP SN8000B SAN Directors

• FCIP feature support: ESCON and Bus/Tag printer emulation support

Update recommendation

IMPORTANT: Fabric OS 7.0.0a is the minimum required firmware version for the HP SN8000B

8-Slot SAN Backbone Director Switch, HP SN8000B 4-Slot SAN Director Switch, and the HP

SN6000B 16 Gbps FC Switch. Fabric OS 7.0.1 is the minimum firmware version for the SN3000B

16 Gbps FC Switch and the HP SN8000B 8 Gbps 32-port and 48-port Enhanced FC Blades.
