Configuring LLDP global command options
After entering the protocol lldp command from global configuration mode, you are in LLDP
configuration mode which is designated with the switch(conf-lldp)# prompt. Using the keywords in
this mode, you can set non-default parameter values that apply globally to all interfaces.

To specify a system name for the Brocade 8000 CEE switch, perform the following steps from the
global LLDP configuration mode:

To specify an LLDP system description for the CEE switch, perform the following steps from the
global LLDP configuration mode:
Step Task Command
1. Specify an LLDP system name for the CEE switch.
By default, the “host-name” from the
chassis/entity MIB is used.
switch(conf-lldp)#system-name NAME
2. Display the LLDP configuration. switch(conf-lldp)#do show lldp
[interface | neighbors | statistics]
Step Task Command
1. Specify a system description for the Brocade
8000 CEE switch. We recommend that you
use the operating system version for the
description or use the description from the
chassis/entity MIB. The system description
is seen by neighboring switches.
switch(conf-lldp)#system-description LINE
2. Display the LLDP configuration. switch(conf-lldp)#do show lldp [interface
| neighbors | statistics]
